Hello September!

 

Summer may be winding down, but your summer spa treatments don’t have to end! Of course, all year we have stress, tension and knots; so, a good massage is never out of season. We practice a holistic approach to treat the skin and all conditions of the skin at Jacqueline Morgan Day Spa. Whether you have specific challenges such as aging, hyperpigmentation, hyper-sensitivity, scarring or just simply want to prevent early aging and maintain healthy, beautiful skin, we have solutions that are gentle, effective and affordable.

Deep, harsh peeling, constant exfoliation and home care products that are way too strong for daily use can strip your skin of the vital barrier that is there to protect your skin. Doing so reduces collagen, weakens elasticity and immunity, thins the skin and causes inflammation. Inflammation is the root cause of most skin and body problems.

It is not necessary to “torture” your skin! In fact, in the long run, it does more damage.

With our approach, results happen safely and do not compromise the integrity of the skin. No needles, harsh chemicals or blades are necessary!

We are often asked by clients how they can achieve the best results from their facial.  I want to share with you how you can have a great facial experience at Jacqueline Morgan Day Spa and maintain that lovely, just-had-a-facial afterglow!

1. Create Goals:

What 2 things about your skin that you would like to improve?  Would you like to reduce uneven pigmentation, acne, lines, sensitivity, etc.? Share your goals with your esthetician before your facial so they can use products and methods that will help you achieve results.

2.  Take Note:

What does your current skin care regimen look like? What products are you using? How are they working for you? If you have products at home that you are using but are not sure if they are the best for your skin, bring them with you so your esthetician can look at the ingredients and tell you more about them and let you know if there is something better.

3. From The Inside Out:

We’ve all heard the adage, “You are what you eat.” Well, it’s true! Good nutrition is very important when it comes to maintaining beautiful skin. Certain skin conditions are helped tremendously by making a few lifestyle changes and being careful about what we put into our bodies. Eating foods that are high in antioxidants and essential fatty acids is good for the whole body, including your skin. And don’t forget to hydrate with water or herbal teas!

Other Helpful Hints:

• Reserve the Sauna prior to your facial. Or, plan to stay and relax after your facial to have a cup of tea and enjoy a moment of rejuvenation. This is your time -make the most of it!

•  Put your cell phone away! Or at the very least, silence it.

•  Remove contacts before a facial.

•  Bring a jewelry bag to place your jewelry and other personal belongings in a safe place. If you’re given a robe and locker, place your valuables in your purse or in a bag, in the locker and not in the pocket of your robe.
